That's true - except it's spelled Poca Dots. I actually do basketball and softball games there. ESPN did a special on HS nicknames a few years ago and featured The Dots as #1.

Some other unusual or interesting ones we have are:

The Clay Battelle Cee Bees
Stonewall Jackson Generals
Cammack Blue Streaks
Ceredo Kenova Wonders
Buffalo Bison
Up north in the town of Weirton and the high school is Weir High (pronounced we're) - needless to say, the students chant "We're High" at all the games.
