One of my favorite stories, from a ref in D.C.

Ref had to bring his son and daughter to a game, and they were both fairly young at the time. He told them to sit in the stands, and to not tell anybody that their dad was one of the refs.

Well, tight game towards the end of the fourth quarter, there's a collision in the paint, and this ref calls a charge that goes against the home team. The crowd starts chanting "Kill the ref!" and he looks for his kids to make sure they're not too upset by this.

His kids were chanting along with the crowd.
