Coach can make a Coach's "T" directed to his players, or to an official. If he stands up the official can more easily recognize the request.
The coach may touch his shoulders for a 30 and/or make a verbal request.
If an official does not see or hear the 30 second request, the official may call a full time-out, although many officials will clarify the request before reporting the length to the scorer, partners and opponent.
