The player may make a normal landing and it makes no difference whether the first foot down is in the frontcourt or backcourt.
Immediately after the throw-in ends in this situation, there is no team control by either team. Therefore I conclude that
the team not in control in this instance means
either team. Therefore, no matter who jumps up and secures control in mid-air, he is entitled to come down anywhere on the court without a violation.
