I worked a college scrimmage last year and they were going with some 7 on 7 stuff. Before the scrimmage started they were working on some defensive back techniques and asking my opinion on if this or that would be considered a foul with how they were teaching it. It was very interesting to hear how they were teaching the technique. It was good for me, and them as they heard things from my perspective.
A few NFL officials I have talked to at clinics say they attend practice before they work scrimmages in the preseason and talk to the players as they do drills, telling them what they look for and what is and is not a foul. It benifits both parties. I think it may be a good thing to look at and I would be interested in getting a tape from you if he had one on coaching DB's on pass coverage.
