From a business sense (and, as I said before, the NFL is a business) I think the roughing rules are a not a bad thing for them. As a fan who prefers a hard-hitting, low-scoring, defensive game, I think they have gone a bit too far in terms of my viewing enjoyment (boy that sounds selfish, doesn't it).
