Fellow Official goes Down
Todd Clark, an varsity umpire from Lafayette, Indiana suffered a heart attack on the field Friday night. The game was at Lafayette Jefferson High School. The crew was 4 minutes into the game when Todd complained to a coach on the sideline prior to a free kick that he didn't feel well. He collapsed not long after the kick. Todd remains in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. Todd has been a varsity official for 32 years and is our association's rule interpretor. He also assist with training on the state level for the Indiana Football Officials Association. As you through your day, please think of Todd and his family. I have always found this forum to be a source of knowledge, insight, and comraderee. It is times like these that our fraternity is tested. Thank you all for your support.
