I don't necessarily look at whether or not the plays are authentic. I realize it is a movie and action movies have very unrealistic explosions, chases, etc. in them. I do, however, anyalyze the officials. I mostly get upset when they portray officials in a negative light. For example, they always seem to let the "bad guy" team cheat, rough up, etc. against the "good guy" team. And while I don't remember everything about Remember the Titans, I do recall a game in which the officials were biased against Denzel Washington's team in an attempt to get him fired so they could bring back the white coach. While the officials probably did have some role in the racial dynamics in the game, I did not think it was necessary to bring the officials into the racism of the situation.

So rather than saying "hey, that flip the player made was totally unrealistic," I am likely to think "I really wish films would quit portraying the officials in such a negative light."
