I'm came up in a world of Ol' Sams that wanted there to be no DBT line for the defense, but limit the offense to two bases on any "overthrown" ball. Kicker was that the runner had to make it and was still liable to be put out.

Yeah, I used to hear ground rules like that when I first started, or I guess while we still had umpires who were around then.
