Pet peeve. Umpires who want the best of both worlds.

I'm came up in a world of Ol' Sams that wanted there to be no DBT line for the defense, but limit the offense to two bases on any "overthrown" ball. Kicker was that the runner had to make it and was still liable to be put out.

You think these guys were looking for every out they can get?
