Truck interrupts game; Little League official cited

Published June 9, 2006

STREAMWOOD -- A Streamwood Little League official has been cited for disorderly conduct after police said he drove his pickup onto a Park District diamond while a youth baseball game was in progress.

Peter Surges, 47, of the first block of Pine Street in Streamwood, was cited after driving onto the field Wednesday night and stopping his pickup between the pitcher's mound and home plate at a Park District field in the 800 block of South Park Boulevard, police said.

Fields have been heavily scheduled after several recent rainouts, said Dennis Stein of the Park District.

Surges drove up, identified himself as a Little League vice president and demanded play be stopped, officials said
