First it was Matsui's gruesome writst injury, then Mariano injures his back while putting on his shoes, then Sheffield goes on the DL with a muscle strain, and now Jeter gets plunked on the hand (although I heard the x-rays were negative). I'm not sure I've ever seen a stretch where 4 of a team's 5 or 6 most important players get injured in such close succession. Very tough stretch.
On the upside, Moyer pitched a 2-hit gem for Seattle the other night. I heard he's the oldest guy to throw a complete game shutout since Charlie Hough in '90 or something like that.
On the downside, Atlanta gets swept by Arizona in a 4-game series (in Atlanta) for the first time ever. The party may be over for the Braves, I think.
