I hope that the "obvious" was "yes". It's hard to tell from your post why the coach's question was funny. Maybe I've just had too much time off from officiating this week.

Uhh....no shot clock in 7th / 8th and my partner had never worked college...the funny part is that he was so caught off guard with the question, he froze. Ok, so you had to be there.
