The BoSox aren't any games behind. They are in second place in their division though.
If it'll make you feel any better, note that the MLB standings also show that your beloved Cubbies are all the way up to
FOURTH place in their division as of today, even though the fifth-place Brewers have won more games. The good news also is that Prior and Woods are tenatively expected to be back for the playoffs in October now, if the Cubs do happen to make them.
