The best I can describe is that it is fast pitch without being real fast. There are regulations on the pitching, like no windmill, that keep the speed of the ball down. There is still stealing and many other aspects of the fastpitch game.
When I got in to softball, I did slow pitch for a couple of years, then did a year or two of modified and then got into fastpitch. I liked that gradual exposure to different levels.
