WOW!
I thought it was only common sense and the right way to read the 'spirit of the rule'....
But much better than that I (a-hem) discovered ther's a SPECIFIC rule for this on ISF Rulebook!!
It reads:
Rule 9 (Dead ball - Live ball)
Sec.1 (THE BLL IS DEAD)
i. When an accident to a batter-runner or runner prevents him from proceeding to the awarded base, he may be
substituted. The substitute will be allowed to proceed to any awarded bases. The substitute must legally touch all
awarded or missed bases not previously touched.
