After the AP throw-in discussion, I got to thinking (I know, that's dangerous). Apparently there are three types of throw-ins "defined" by the rules: designated spot, alternating possession and "run the baseline." Each is a little different.

Designated spot: The norm

Alternating possession: Designated spot, but with additional rules regarding the AP arrow

"Running": Many of the spot throw-in rules do not apply, additional considerations about whether the "running" throw-in continues after a violation or foul.

Are there any others?
