If you are watching a game, and fans around you are talking about a rule and they are misinterpreting it, and sometimes loudly to the officials, are you inclined to correct them? They may or may not know you are an official.

Example: I was watching a YMCA football game one Sat. morning and a person, who knew I was an official, asked for my interpretation on a situation that had occurred the night before in a 4A varsity game. He said one fan was going nuts over where the ball was placed after a missed try on a field goal. Sad part was, this nut was a FB coach at the middle school. Had I been there, I'd like to think I'd be able to politely correct him without referring to him as 'coach.'

Opinions?
