Question

This happened in girls AAU game last weekend. Players line up backwards for jump ball, which I somehow miss (I have had this happen several times, but never missed it in past). We (A) win jump in what is really A's backcourt but A's players believe to be frontcourt due to jump ball alignment. A attacks the basket nearest my bench, which I immediately recognize as wrong. When I yell wrong basket, A1 realizes she needs to go the other way and starts back up court to where A warmed up. The ref then blows whistle, recognizes error, and rejumps. It was only after B won the ensuing jump that I wondered (to myself guys!) whether this should have been a rejump, or should the refs have simply reset players on court to proper direction and make it A's ball to inbound (A had possession and had not committed a backcourt or ten second count violation). What is the proper procedure for this situation (other than to pay attention so it does not occur in the first place!!!)?
