I think you need to edit your original post where you turned it on.
I never turn on email notification with web boards because I agree with you - it is very annoying.
Apparently, this web board allows you to set the default in your profile to turn it on, but turning the default off does not turn off your email notification for any thread where you used the posting option of clicking the email notify box.
Edit your post where you posted the link to that pitching coach's web site and click off "email notification."
That should do it.
