A shot in the air is only canceled by a player control foul (which could only be by the player that shot the ball), basket interference or goaltending. The ball is live until the shot is in the basket. So, this is a common foul. The basket counts since nothing has occur that negates it or makes the ball dead. The penalty for the foul is that B either gets the ball OOB nearest the spot of the foul, shoots 1+1, or shoots 2 depending on the foul count.
