Season starts first week of September. Essentially seven weeks of "regular season."

Every team gets at least two games after that. Teams that don't make the playoffs, or that get knocked out in the first round, get "crossover" games against schools they don't normally play of roughly equivalent skill.

Weeks 8 & 9 are the sectional playoffs. Week 10 determines the section 2 champion for each of the five classifications. (Everyone but the 10 teams playing for a sectional title is done after week 9.)

Regional playoffs are another two games after that. State championships are held Thanksgiving weekend at the Carrier Dome.
