J, once the ball hits the official, the ball has backcourt status b/c the official is touching the midcourt line. So it doesn't really matter if the ball itself goes into the frontcourt or the backcourt. A2 touched the ball last before the ball gained backcourt status, so if any player on Team A touches the ball before a Team B player does, it's a violation -- whether that touch occurs in the frontcourt or the backcourt.
