Wisconsin has implemented a new Pre-Game warmup procedure (for Varsity games) this year, and was wondering how this compares to other states. Here it is:
Immediately after the JV or sophomore game, both officials, the head coaches and captains go to center court for the pregame conference. At the same time three minutes are put on the clock. Remainder of teams may come out, but no balls allowed on court until after the three minutes is up. After conference is done, it is suggested that rosters and lineups be turned in.(Not required, as 10 minute rule still applies.) At end of three minutes, normal 20-minute warmups start, with officials staying on the court for the duration.
What do other states do, and how do you like it?
Hmm, so this means that both teams & the officials are
required to be in the gym (not in the locker room) when
the game ends, no? Or is there a mad dash to the lockers
to get the teams & the officials? Seems over done to me.
