Here, he wouldn't be assigned a game. He would be suspended until he was found not guilty or until he was released when fould guilty.

He may be innocent. But until that's proven, a member of an organization agrees to the policies of that organization. If the policy is that he gets suspended until such time that his innocence is proven, then he's suspended. Our state association, along with many others I'm willing to bet, will suspend that official until a decision is reached.
You've never heard of players being suspended from a team when they're arrested for an offense? You've never heard of a police officer being placed on administrative leave after a shooting? You've never heard of a teacher being suspended when he/she's accused of breaking the law?
