I once got burned as Lead crossing over on a high throw-in like this. The throw-in came toward the paint right in front of me. (Perfect so far!) Hwoever, it was just out of control range, so the player batted the ball back in bounds toward the other side. Her momentum carried her off the end of the court, sealing me to what just became the weak side. Two players, unfortunately one from each team, raced toward the ball that was flying toward the far, unofficiated sideline. They got to the ball at basically the same time, both touched it in some unknown order, and the ball went OOB on the previously identified unofficiated sideline. The coaches didn't seem to understand....
I still cross over on those inbounds, but I sure hope the offense controls things properly.
