Base loaded, no outs. First pitch taken, F2 attempts a pickoff at 3B, ball gets away from
F5, not far, R1 starts to advance, caught in rundown. Second throw of rundown gets by F5
again, not far. R1 retreats to 3B, where now R2 is standing. F5 has retrieved the ball
and is looking at both runners. R2 two retreats to 2B. Meanwhile, R3 has moved from 1st to
near the coaches box just watching the action. She returns to 1B. Defensive coach asks
for, receives time. "Blue, tell me I got an out on this play." "I will coach, if you can tell
me where." "How about two runners on the same base." "Won't fly coach, no tag of
either runner." "Well, surely I have the out on the runner at 1B for leaving the bag?"
"Nope, can't give you that one either coach, she stayed on the field of play, did not enter
DBT at anytime." Coach, "Damn", "Wake up out there ladies, we traveled too far to
let this happen." (So. Ca. team)
