I will take a stab at that one.I would say that would be an improper appeal.My reasoning is that the ball is dead once it clears the fence,so the catcher would be unable to make a live ball appeal by stepping on home after umpire hands him the ball.The ball would have to become "live" again by the pitcher stepping onto the rubber.Then,he/she could properly step off the rubber and initiate the appeal.
