Would like feedback on interpreting ASA rule 3, section 7 on cooling and heating bats. If a player is observed using a "bat warmer",is she in violation? If the player is observed holding a bat in front of a propane heater in the dugout during a cold day, or a swamp cooler during a hot day, did she violate the rule? When temperature of the bat is involved, how will an inspection reveal the bat was altered? If a bat is setting outside the dugout on summer day in Phoenix when it is 113 degrees, did she allow her bat to be "warmed" and is in violation?
Your interpretation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
