I've used the extra wide stance for about the last 6 years, and at 6'6", it is EXTRA WIDE d8-). I also set up around 12" from the catcher and try to "open the gate" to the side the catcher is going, usually to the side that the ball went by on, but boy what a mess if she crosses me up and goes the other way,
