It sounds like the problem is that you have a small foot. Is that correct? Honig's carries a tube sock that might work. Saw them at our All Officials Clinic last Sunday.
Good socks are a tough find. I don't like the socks that have the black starting at the ankle. I bought 10 pairs last year, 2 pair each for our varsity crew, so that we would all be wearing the same socks. Didn't work. The guys who had smaller feet, and needed the 9-11 sock, ended up with the black starting at their ankles. The 11-13 sock had the look we wanted but 2 on the crew couldn't wear it.
