Your mechanics manual is a great place to start! It covers all the basics in terms of coverage, switching, and rotations. Not to say that if you know the book cover to cover you'll be good at it, but at least you have the basics. I attended a camp this year that had an emphasis on transistion from 2 whistle to 3 whistle mechanics, and you could tell who had done their homework before camp and who didn't.
