I did
VB last year, and will this year, too, if my "real job" doesn't interfere. As a very nem newbie, here's my advice. The first thing to really get a handle on is the lift. I took more grief about this than anything else. Next thing, don't ever climb up onto that funky little platform if it wiggles at all. That thing gives me the willies. It's a lot more scary than doing bball on a cement court outside. If you can, try to do a least a few matches as the down official at a fairly high level of play. My personal opinion is that the spread between good and bad is a lot greater in volleyball than in basketball, and moving up can be a real culture shock, not just a minor adjustment. Keep exercising to be prepared for basketball. VBall doesn't help with the tonin'!!!
