Looks like the NBA is going to have an alternate official at every post-season game this year instead of just the conference finals and NBA finals as in the past.

I think this is a good move despite the added cost (the NBA is a multi-billion dollar enterprise anyway). Joey Crawford went down with a calf injury last year and the officials had to go 2-man.

I've noticed that the officials getting assignments so far this season have been much more experienced than last year's first round group. The younger officials are probably just being assigned as an alternate now.
