If you're not getting paid by the hour, then make them throw strikes. Sure you can change based on the level of play or the score on the board.

Do I? Well we're blessed to be in an area with very good baseball at all levels that I call so I don't really have to worry too much - unless the score is way out of hand and then I just tell them be swinging at everything guys.

Just make it consistent for everyone involved and you won't get any flack.
