Well,

It seems that every year the 'Confidential Ratings Report' is leaked to some major news information.

Remember a couple of things:

1) There are two separate ratings. The first one, official, is by the Commish's Office and has never been leaked to the press. This includes, but is not limited to, QESTEC ratings, game ratings by umpire supervisors, etc. The second one is by players and managers is unofficial. This is the report that often is leaked to the press. As expected umpires that deal with "no nonsense" are normally rated near the bottom of the pile.

2) Watching who got critical playoff games was once a way to see who the 'best' umpires were. Now with political correctness and expanded playoff pools it seems that even the lowest 'rated' umpires eventually work on the most important stage.

I azm not sure that evaluations are that important in MLB baseball. I am more concerned about umpires that are now allowed to stay on far past their prime as age catches up with them.
