All the surgery does is scrape the "dead" tissue away from the ends of the torn meniscius. One of my fellow officials has had the procedure done six (6) times- not a very good success rate. You can line the pockets of an orthorpedic surgeon, or you can try some "alternative medicines" (Glucosamine, Chondroitin and Methsulfonylmethane pills) It will take about three months of 1500 mg a day, but you should be able to move pain free and notice a significant difference.
