JMO,
I would yes, it is illegal for a player to kick
the ball out of the glove (unsportsman like act), but
if side was legal in all aspects and ball was knocked
out, the runner was safe. Judging by what you had, I
agree with your call - if your partner saw a *kick*
and not a legal slide - he has good call. Hard to
picture a kick as part of a slide, but then he was on
the spot and I was not.
