Reminds me of something that happened in a USSSA game last year. The names have be omitted to protect the innocent.
A coach who was a very well-known MLB player protested a ruling during a game. While the tournament director was being located, he told one of the umpires that we could settle this much more quickly because he had a well-known retired MLB umpire on his cell phone speed dial.
Incidently, he lost the protest.
