Just saw this play during a women's NCAA first round game:
Here is the best way I can describe it.
A1, standing near top of key, makes a nice little rainbow pass to post player A2 in lane. Pass is just beyond A2's reach, so she takes a stride and jumps toward basket to make the catch. While A2 is in the air, B1 moves into position and establishes herself with both feet on the floor facing A2. As A2 comes down with ball in hand, hard contact occurs. A2 did not land on the court before contact. Both A2 and B1 end up on the floor.
Pretty much a bang/bang play.
What do you have and would it make a difference if we're going by NFHS rules?
(Official's ruling to follow.)
