Great, but that's not what the rules say. There's no "when in doubt go to OT" rule.

Doubt existed. The camera angles really can't solve it. One official said three and another two. It's a tie. Play the overtime.

The conference (apparently) disagrees -- they found an angle that shows the foot on the line. Even if they didn't, the general rule-of-thumb / benefit of the doubt is that it's a 2-point shot unless proven to be a 3-point shot.
