I've called Men's League games for 8 years now so they know what to do and what not to do. One of the best things that happens to me is when you get there for the game and the players say "I'm glad your here tonight .We had this guy the other night..etc...." Even though they may not agree with my calls sometimes, they know I would not call it if I didn't think it was the right call. Add the fact that I have umpired most of these guys in softball (as well as playing softball and basketball with some)for years only adds to their comfort level with me.. What's sad is that now (I'm 31)I'm calling some kids now that I called while they were in Jr High and HS.

The only teams we have a problem with are the 3 from one particular church. Once they start complaining (usually after the opening prayer) I warn them then T'em up the next time. 2 T's on the same team ends the game right then. That ususally keeps 'em quiet the rest of the game.
