First, the picture needs to be on a web site somewhere. It can be your web site or any other web site that allows you to:
a) upload your jpg (or bmp, or gif, or ...) image AND
b) hot link to images on the site
Most "free" web servers either do not allow hot links or have such a low download bandwidth that if you post a hot link on a web board it will quickly exceed the site's bandwidth and all we will see is one of those little red "X"'s (like so:
.)
Once you have the pic located on a web site, you need the URL for the pic. For the tamel shoe, it was
http://www.tanel360.com/data/products/lg/ACFcjmn9G.jpg, which I found on
Tamel's own web site. (Most commercial web sites have large bandwidths and don't bother to block hot links - after all, the pic I posted is free advertizing for Tamel.)

BTW, this is the same way the little smilie pics are embedded (excepting those this board supports directly, such as
