Another thread got me thinking about a play I saw this year. Start of the game, official points direction and states direction. Teams are set for the jump in the right direction. A1 taps the ball behind him to A2 who drives in for an easy layup in B's basket. B quickly inbounds the ball for another easy basket. A calls a timeout to take the issue up with the ref's. Officials set the score at 4-0 with Team B in the lead. A has the ball for a baseline throw in.
I still think the score was set correctly (case book 5.2.3). Alittle lunch time bantering, another is contending that 5.2.1 E & F would apply and the score should be 2-2.
The level was boys JV and all happened within the first few seconds of the game.
Thoughts? What else could the officials have done to prevent this?
