Not so quick, Joel. ASA Rule 8.8.K, the runner is out "When the runner is struck with a fair batted ball while not in contact with a base and before it passes an infielder, excluding the pitcher, or if it passes an infielder and any fielder has an opportunity to make an out."
Please note that the second half of this rule simply says "fielder", not infielder.
