Which also means that the refs aren't likely the most experienced / best refs you'll ever see. Everyone has to start somewhere.

If the official judges that the ball came to rest in the player's rite (sic) hand, then it would be a double dribble.

At least two possibilities here -- the player "cleared out" a defensive player's hands that were in good position, or the player pushed to get open for the jump shot and the whistle didn't happen until the shot was underway.
Note that I'm not saying that either of these plays happened this way -- only that these could have been correct calls.

At lease this ref is trying to help out, not just sitting in the stands criticizing.
You seem to like the game -- refereeing is a great way to stay involved.
