With the new NFHS definition for Foul Ball vs. Foul Tip, I'ld like for some thoughts about how the Plate Umpire should signal/call the situation where a runner is stealing 2nd with less than two outs and the batter (a) Foul Tips strike three, or (b) Foul Balls strike three to the Catcher for an out. In (B), I know the runner needs to re-tag before advancing to 2nd, but what mechanic should be used to convey that information to both the Base Umpire and the runner heading to 2nd? I'm not too concerned about the Foul Tip, since it would be treated the same as a pure strike out.

Many thanks.
