I agree - I do that sometimes, too. Even when a player is protesting, wondering what they did, I find a good, quick, low-key explanation while we're on the lane works just about every time.
I do think you're being a bit generous with the 900/1000 thing
- I'd maybe agree on 975/1000, but that's as low as I'll go
