In this case the officials knew before the OT started. It was my understanding that the official book was just that, official. Before the overtime started the officials noted that team "B" was ahead by one single point. I would think this would end the game right there as the scoreboard is only for reference and really means nothing. Wouldn't you end the game stating that the official book has Team "B" ahead by one point therefore there can be no OT? The official book was being handled by Team "A" so it wasn't like Team "B" was tweeking the book.
