As entertaining as the Jim Evans Interview has been, it doesn't begin to scratch the surface of who Jim is, how he trains and how he succeeds.
As a recent attendee of the Desert Classic, I can testify that we learned as much from Jim in just the opening Saturday evening session as all 12 parts (so far) of the interview contain.
This is not a knock on the interveiw, by any means, but rather a plug for the Classics. The interview is entertaining, and informative for those who have not had the pleasure of being in Jim's company. But no interview can fully describe Jim and his experiences or properly illustrate his training techniques and the change that comes over those who attend his Classics.
I would not have believed how comprehensive and intense the training would be prior to going. It is a phenomenal and enlightening experience, and one that I believe every serious amateur umpire should have.
I am so thoroughly sold on both the experience and the benefits, I have presented my son with a gift of the Florida Classic.
